Faryar Shirzad is the Chief Policy Officer at Coinbase, where he leads the company’s global engagement with policymakers and has been instrumental in shaping crypto regulatory discourse in the U.S. Prior to joining Coinbase, he served as Global Co-Head of Government Affairs at Goldman Sachs and held senior roles in the U.S. government, including Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs under President George W. Bush, as well as Assistant Secretary for Import Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce. He holds degrees from the University of Maryland (BS), Harvard Kennedy School (MPP), and the University of Virginia School of Law (JD).
